Okay, fine, not really just. But it ended yesterday and "carried over" till today in the form of tent-washing, so close enough.
SONG OF THE DAY: The Paddling Song by Myself! :D
BHB SIOL.
This was from way back in April. This video is pretty damn messed up. I was freaking tired as hell while recording the video, and the lyrics were made up as I went along. Turned out pretty okay I guess. Consider this the Paddlers' theme song, or at least my theme song for them if you must. I wonder what the J1s are gonna think of this crap when they come in.
I suggest you hear it at least once for some lulz.
Yes, lulz.
ANYWAY, PADDLERS' CAMP.
It's been a while since I've slept in a tent. That's all I can say.
First day was pretty shaggaristical.
Kayaked from Pasir Ris Park to Punggol, then Pulau Ubin, then to Changi beach. DOESN'T THAT SOUND FAR. It's about 18km I think, which really isn't as hard as it sounds, but for people who haven't kayaked before you could go all "Eh yesterday I paddled 18km" to which they'll probably go "SIAO AH.
Anyway upon reaching Changi beach (at about 2plus I think?) we arranged our kayaks and started pitching our tents, after which we did possibly the most mature thing ever: Build sandcastles. It's not like we were forced to go build sandcastles or anything, but we had nothing else to do, and the beach was so nearby.
Ever tried digging a really deep hole in the sand, only to suddenly find water filling up said hole, like out of nowhere? Yeah, we wanted to make a bigass hole just for the sake of it, when suddenly water started, well, filling it up. So we took the idea and ran with it, trying to use these holes as sources of water as basins of sort, and we tried creating a river system with lakes and meandering rivers and mini-waterfalls, all on the beach. Sadly though, there are no pictures other than that of the deepest hole that we dug, which we called the Shrine of the Seven Giants, in reference to the seven of us who wasted our afternoon building the stupid shit.
The black stuff is supposed to read "VII", or 7 in Roman numerals for the uninformed.
You can actually see the hole at the bottom of the picture.
Also, this is the first time I've written a caption that has had more than one line.
Then came the ridiculousness which was the night. Leon helped us buy this beer which was honestly too strong to be beer. It was like, 8.8% or something? At least twice the normal alcohol content.
Here's Wee Pin's account of what happened that night.
"We went to booze at changi village.Eat cockles and nasi lemak.Super uncle."
Yeah. What he didn't mention though was when they were ass-ed me like shit. Chin Yue had his own can of beer but he didn't like it, so he'd distract me by pointing somewhere, to which I'd look, and he'd then spike my Ice Lemon Green Tea with some of his beer. Apparently I finished about a quarter of his beer without realising it. And the rest of the guys there were all laughing at me, but I didn't know what they were laughing about, so I was sad. ):
Apparently "You're Not In On the Joke" is the name of a Cobra Starship song, so whatever I'll just use this picture.
The next day we paddled back to Pasir Ris Park. We docked at about 12-ish, leaving us a helluva lot of time to participate in our next activity... Which was sandcastle building, a la LTC. We pretty much recreated the giant hole thing, except in a more organised fashion. Sadly no pictures again. ):
After sandcastle building, it happened to be low tide, so we went down and found a pit of clay. Clay kinda feels like wet play-dough, if you don't know. We took turns trying to throw the stuff at Sandeep, after which we tried making the pit deeper. Eventually we made it so that one could sink into the pit about thigh-deep, which is insane.
NO PICTURES AGAIN ARGH.
After that was barbeque and night walk, neither of which was interesting. The night and the next day went by uneventfully. I reached home yesterday at about 5plus, played Skyrim for abit, then slept from 6-ish to 7.30 this morning, missing dinner and everything. I then went to school with a few paddlers to wash the tents with ODAC, since we borrowed the tents from them. After the washing was done, Pin Leon and I tried kicking some soccer ball up the stairs at the ODAC room, where I SPLIT MY PANTS. SIAN.
So I sat around while covering the hole and watched Pin and Leon play. We then had lunch at Carl's Jr, which Leon had not eaten at before WTF. After we finished eating we sat in Carl's Jr and played Skyrim on my laptop, since I'd brought it along. We did this for more than an hour. THIS IS WHAT SKYRIM DOES TO YOU.
Remember, all this while I was in my split pants.
Anyway, I came home after that, played Skyrim till dinner, after which I started writing this post, and after this I'll be playing Skyrim SO BYE NOW.
My sentiments exactly.
We were both young when I first saw you.
