Hello again! This is my song of the day. Do play it while you read. It's by Daft Punk, which is totally ace.
Take That's coming this Friday. Tickets are sold out I heard! I also heard that some people bought a large number of tickets and are reselling them since so many people want to go. And they're making a profit from it. That's genius.
Genius much like these people are.
Anyway you'll be seeing me at Take That. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I'll be performing with Angeline and Serene!
"WTF but you didn't appear in the video!!!!" You shout at me. Yeah I know but like I said, unforeseen circumstances yo!
Today is Wednesday. So I shall talk about Monday, Tuesday and today.
MONDAY.
God, did I dread going to school. Nobody likes Mondays. All I remember is studying a bit with Weepin and Leon in the study room after school. OKAY FULL STOP.
TUESDAY.
Sat with and did a bit of chem with Chinyue and Marcus and Deon and That Guy after school. Can't remember what happened before that. What I do remember though, is that we had this ridiculous conversation about creating a manga based on Chemistry concepts.
And so they combined forces...
...To form the mighty HYDROCHLORIC ACID!
Neutralisation attack!!
What's this!? Conjugate base shield!?
... Yeah.
TODAY.
I'm sure many people can relate to me with regards to my morning.
Woke up at 7 cause I wanted to eat breakfast. Then I lay in my bed thinking.
"Aiya 10 more minutes ah."
Woke up at 7.10.
"Aiya 10 more minutes ah."
Woke up at 7.20.
"Aiya 10 more minutes ah."
Woke up at 7.30.
"Aiya 5 more minutes will do."
Then wake up see my clock.
SIAOLIAO 8.20. No time to eat, must bathe and stuff if I don't want to rush. So oh well. ):
Rest of the day was as per normal. A boring day at school. Thank goodness I understood everything during my lessons though! Likka smart.
Then came Entrepreneurship seminar. 3 things.
1.GOSH WUZ THE SPEAKER PURTY.
2.WTF SHE'S ONLY 23 AND MARRIED.
3.GOSH WAS THE SPEAKER PRETTY.
Yes she was pretty! From MJ some more WOAH. Netball captain back in her day. I think the guys all paid attention. Too bad I'm into men though.
YEAH RIGHT.
You'll never know.
Proceeded to play Sepak Tekraw with a bunch of 11S103 guys. Then went back for Take That rehearsal! All the other contestants are so good! I wish I could sing/play the guitar/dance as good as them. Take That's definitely worth the 3 bucks you would've paid for the ticket. ENTERTAINING MUCH. But I'll go more into that another day.
Do me a favour and help the emcees out. I think they're afraid that their jokes are unfunny and that it'll be an awkward situation for them. They are probably correct. So please force yourselves to laugh at their jokes!
Thank you!
Last night, I had a dream about you.

I feel like I've lost my sense of humour for real.
At least when it comes to writing.
Uh, let me think of a joke. A yo momma one!
Yo momma so fat, she has a higher chance of suffering from a heart attack as compared to the average person!
No, just no.
Oh well.
I'll do my standard talk-about-the-past-few-days thing.
THURSDAY.
I don't remember what I did, but I do remember that it rained, and I was sitting around with Chin Yue and Weepin and Leon and Deon at the study benches. Brought out my laptop, had a nostalgia trip. Rewatched Wilfred and my House Comm video which was lying around in my computer. I seriously wonder how this video managed to reach out to the Atlasians. I marvel at how I managed to find this ridiculously funny at the time. Can't remember what I did after that.
FRIDAY.
It was an uneventful day. I realise I go to school for what happens when it ends, actually. I used to go to school to stay back for FunFestique. So with FunFesique's end, it felt a little weird not having something to do which made me stay in school till 8plus.
After school I went to pepper lunch with Fred and Pin and Liying (woah first time get mentioned here) and Celestine. Met up with Leon there, saw Shuqi and her friends. Just a normal lunch. There I learnt how to make my fingers look like they were punching.
Went back to school after that to wait for CCA to start. So I stayed in the Study Room with Shuqi and Raveen for a bit, while the rest had lectures to attend. Eventually Chin Yue came down and Shuqi said something about ODAC going to play games with Paddlers that day, and I totally fell for it. DAMN IRRITATING being lied to all the time hahaha.
Then had Paddlers, which was CRAZY. 400 pushups. That's alot. Didn't do all 400, obviously, but we all tried our best. Felt guilty not being able to do all 400 though. I remember when the whole team was down in position and Nigel told us what it meant to be a team. Felt like crying, seriously. Either that or my eyes just wanted to sweat.
We all sweat DAMN ALOT. It was raining sweat, seriously.
I said raining sweat, not sweating Rain.
On the bright side, after that we all felt like some kind of monstrous muscular beast.
That's not what I meant.
Had dinner after that, laughed like mad for some reason. Something to do with weepin saying "okay" alot of times.
SATURDAY
I DID NOTHING.
TODAY
Went to Manpuku to study with Leon and Shuqi, then Celestine came, followed by Chin Yue. Then had dinner with Chin Yue and Leon. All in all not a very interesting day, but at least I got to see my dear friends.
And now we have come full circle.
EOM YOU'RE GOING DOWN.
Never thought that I'd fall in love, but it grew from a simple crush.
Uh, let me think of a joke. A yo momma one!

It's over!
That's right, FunFestique is over! What a crazy almost-a-week it's been. Many a drama had unfolded throughout the course of this event, what with high emotions and even several injuries. I myself am suffering from a bad case of tennis elbow and a really sore right shoulder.
But damn, did I have fun.
And I bet many others had fun too!
YESTERDAY.
Yesterday was the handball finals. Things went pretty smoothly, I might say. Atlas finally won at something! Actually I don't have much to say about yesterday. But I DO want to say that I now find handball damn fascinating. If not for the fact that it's exciting, then for the fact that it's probably the badass-looking sport ever. People flying EVERYWHERE.
Aw yeah.
Now imagine how epic it would be if everyone was playing on the moon.
AW YEAH.
TODAY.
Today was pretty stale.
Woke up, came to school, celebrated Bibi and Janael's birthday in a semi-failure surprise thing. Then had chemistry tutorial, followed by chemistry lecture, then break, then Econs tutorial. To be honest I was just waiting for the school day to end.
Before listening comprehension, walked with Shu Qi and Leon to West Plaza to get bubbletea.
Learnt two things:
1. Shu Qi can't stop talking for more than 10 seconds (she said so herself)
and 2. West Plaza doesn't have a bubbletea shop HAHAHA FAIL.
So walked back to school with a slurpee in hand.
Had Chinese listening comprehension. It was pretty hard, seeing as to how my Chinese proficiency level is at about the same standard as a slice of bread. I remember sitting down, ready to take the paper. "The paper will begin at 3". WTF THAT'S HALF AN HOUR FROM NOW.
So I went to sleep. Woke up about a minute plus after the broadcast started, when they were still relaying instructions. Opened my question paper, realised it was wet, because I'd drooled on it while sleeping.
Then I read the questions.
So here's what I understood from the stories.
Story 1: There was this guy, he saw this funny plant. And he was like "what's this?" Then suddenly a farmer comes and tells him something about his cows not wanting to eat the plant. Then the farmer goes away, the dude sells the plant and there's a lesson to be learnt somewhere.
Story 2: There's a bunch of tourists visiting some mansion. Then there's a little house underneath it. The tourguide invites the tourists to guess what it was used for. They all give completely wrong answers, to which the tourguide tells them its actual purpose which I didn't understand. There's a lesson to be learnt somewhere.
Story 3: So, this guy married a woman. Then I fell asleep. Woke up to realise that there's a lesson to be learnt somewhere.
Story 4: Giving teachers gifts? There's a lesson to be learnt somewhere.
OKAY CAN.
After listening compre, I went to play monopoly deal with Deon. It was so messy, the modified rules weren't clear, the way they tabulated scores wasn't fair, the modified elements threw off the game's balance, the aircon wasn't on, the place smelt like feet, etc.
After that I went to the rock climbing wall to watch people climb.
Had dinner with a bunch of housecomm people<3
Came home.
And now I'm gonna play Assassin's Creed. BECAUSE I'M GEEKY LIKE THAT.
P.S. I'm trying to find a nice song to sing, will anyone give me suggestions?
Thinking of you, and wondering if you think of me.
But damn, did I have fun.

Downward spiral.
That's how my day went actually. A downward spiral. Started out pretty alright, a pretty standard weilun-y day. Got to school at normal time. Had my lessons. Lessons were mundane, but I managed to stay awake throughout. Learned a few things, did some work even.
Then had my Chinese Oral. Topic was pretty easy, though the passage was harder than a super hard object. All in all I felt it was quite alright.
Then came FunFestique. Things started out okay. Seemed pretty exciting, watching the handball matches. A Triton girl injured her shoulder during one of the matches. I hope she's okay now.
Damn, is handball a rough game. Bodies pushing against each other. Lots of contact. Arms flailing. Way too much shoving.
Actually it sounds kinda sexy, but I digress.
Then it happened. One guy got a black eye as a result of what I believe and absolutely pray is merely an accidental, badly placed shot. Some people say it's on purpose. I don't think so, actually. Nobody's that bad a person. At least I hope so.
But afterwards. That disappointed me quite a bit. By what he did do, or what he didn't do, actually. He didn't apologise at first. But I felt that he wanted to. Probably just couldn't bring himself to. He did in the end though, that's what I heard.
How everyone else reacted to it disappointed me quite a bit more.
People started taking sides.
Then twitter became a medium for indirect argument.
"The other team was rough too!"
"But he didn't say sorry!"
"But he did in the end!"
"But it was in purpose, say sorry also no use!"
That isn't exactly what was said. But it was what was meant.
We're all human, give him a break. We make mistakes. He makes mistakes. "But he should get it for what he did!" Well. This story's certainly gonna spread. For a while, he'll be known as "that guy who did this". That's punishment enough if you ask me.
All I'm saying is, I don't think that what he did was right. If what people say he did is true, that it was on purpose, then I'd feel absolutely disgusted at him. Even if it weren't on purpose, his initial lack of an apology would doesn't exactly bode very well for my impression of him. But please, don't make it worse for the guy. I assume he'd apologised already, and he knows where he's gone wrong. That's more than enough honestly.
Not apologising is wrong. People talking about him, spreading things about him is his punishment.
But if you're reading this, do him a favour. Don't talk about it anymore. Don't say that he's entirely in the wrong, but don't say that what he did is justifiable. That's what everyone else is doing. Try not to make it worse for the guy.
This kind of thing has to die down by itself. So just leave it be.
To see my friends. How they reacted to this, it helped me learn alot about them. Many are rational. Many found out both sides of the story. Many apologised on his behalf. Many chose not to comment. Many tried to mediate. I commend them for that.
Just that the whole fiasco is a little saddening.
After that I went to KFC with weepin and Shurui. Shurui left after a while to meet her brother. So weepin and I talked for a bit, about our secondary school lives, a little about other people and how we feel about them, and we each mentioned something we didn't like about each other. But it was something we ourselves were aware of in the first place, so I guess it's alright. He's actually a pretty good person to have a heart-to-heart talk with, and honestly I don't think I'd have any qualms telling him anything.
Then came the trip home. Fairly standard. I don't know why. Throughout the MRT trip. As I walked back from the MRT station to my home. I felt sad.
I felt lonely.
I just hope it's a passing thing.
I'm getting cold and I need something to rely on.

And now it's official.
The title has more than one meaning eh actually hahaha.
I think this'll be a more wordy post than anything. More of a post made out of different fragments that I've yet to talk about. And I won't have many pictures to supplement them CAUSE VALERIE LIM BI JIA NEVER UPLOAD THE PHOTOS YET.
Fragment number 1: This song.
Boy is it one sexy-ass chillout song. You should listen to it while reading, it's so relaxing. Sorry the video a bit the gross though HAHAHA.
Fragment number 2: Leadership Investiture!
I wonder what the general MJ population's reaction to the investiture was like. Did they like the dance? Were they as excited as we were? Or were they playing Kart Rider? Or Tiny Tower? The answers are probably "Yeah it was cute!" and "Only if one of their close friends was a House Comm member: and "Like yeah duh" and "I had to restock".
iAddiction.
Fragment number 3: Kart Rider
It's a game that can ruin friendships. Not that I've lost any friends to it (yet) BUT THE NEXT PERSON THAT SENDS ME A DRAGONFLY/MAKES ME SLIP ON A BANANA/TURNS MY CONTROLS UPSIDEDOWN/BOOSTS PAST ME AT THE LAST MOMENT/ETC IS GONNA GET A PUNCH IN THE FACE.
And it was this icon that destroyed so many relationships.
Fragment 4: Harry Potter.
It's overrated.
HAHA SO MANY OF YOU WANNA COME KILL ME RIGHT. Relax, I'm just kidding. I may not be as big a fan as alot of others, BUT DAMN DO I WANNA WATCH THAT MOVIE. Also Harry Potter looks so happy in one of the posters! Here it is in Tanah Merah.
Say cheese!
He looks so cheerful! Maybe he should be called Happy Potter instead!
Fragment 5: FunFestique!
This event brought the House Comm closer honestly. Though I wonder what's gonna happen with all the competition going on. Wilfred and I played Badminton for Atlas today! DAYUM is badminton fun! It's so fun, they should call it goodminton!
Oh you're still alive?
Anyway, Wilfred and I played two matches. One match was against Phobos, whose team was made out of two badminton players. OBVIOUS LOSS. At least they were kind enough to give us face and not thrash us that badly. Thanks Yuxian and Darren! The other match was against two Tritonites whom I really don't know. They were pretty alright players. We lost to them after two sets of deuce though. BUT OH WELL WE HAD FUN WITH PLAYING ANYWAY.
And here's a theory I have regarding the quality of badminton. I've probably told this to like at least 20 people already though so PLEASE BEAR WITH ME IF I'D TOLD YOU ALREADY.
Yet another bad visual pun.
There are 3 kinds of Badminton players in the world.
The first kind are those that really suck. Like, really SUCK. These are usually the people most excited about playing badminton for some reason.
The second kind are those who are just insanely good. Like, set-the-shuttlecock-on-fire level of good.
The third kind consists of everyone else in the world. For some inexplicable reason, if you're not bad at badminton, but aren't particularly great either, you'll be at this standard of badminton playing that practically EVERYONE ELSE is at. Honestly, I figure that majority of the world stands at this standard.
So it's either you're bad, you're great, or you've pretty much the same proficiency as millions of other people.
And in other news, Wilfred and I will be playing again tomorrow along with all the other teams. So please show us your support! People've mentioned that it's really funny watching us play. I don't understand why they say so. Come see for yourself I guess!
Final fragment of the day: My goal in life.
I'm gonna study hard. I'm gonna do so well for my A's. I'm gonna get a scholarship in uni. I'm gonna get a bunch of degrees. I'm gonna work for the government. I'm gonna become a spy in the Singaporean Secret Service. I'm gonna get a license to kill. I'm gonna use the government's time machine to go back in time.
Then I'm gonna kill the guy who invented PW.
Toodles now!
I've got so much love to give.

Yes.
Here's a song. It's called Yes. It's by LMFAO, the guys who did Party Rock Anthem. I like it alot.
I suggest you listen to at least the first few seconds of the song to get an idea of what it's like.
I like the song so much that I did a cover of it.
I don't think it's very good though. But give it a chance, maybe you'll like it.
The song's incomplete in the video though. So I recorded the full song and made an mp3. You can listen to it below.
Click these words to download the mp3 if you want.
The above player might not play the full song, but rest assured the download link gives you the full song.
Yes, it's on and popping.
I suggest you listen to at least the first few seconds of the song to get an idea of what it's like.

The song's incomplete in the video though. So I recorded the full song and made an mp3. You can listen to it below.
Click these words to download the mp3 if you want.
The above player might not play the full song, but rest assured the download link gives you the full song.
Yes, it's on and popping.

FUN, FUN, FUN, FUN, FUNFESTIQUE.
Good evening! A few things to talk about. Just two, actually. But this'll be a short post nonetheless.
First thing: FunFestique! Yes, FunFestique. I don't know if it's FunFestique or Funfestique. AS IF THAT MATTERS. As I write this, I'm supposed to help Wilfred do some admin stuff but I'm like half-ignoring him to write this HAHAHA. Wilfred if you're reading this don't be pekcek ah hahaha.
Anyway, I feel that FunFestique is really getting on all the House Comm people's nerves. Thursday night was spent in White Sands macs calling people to join the games. Callisto and Miranda were there too I'm sure. Atlas left at 11.00! LIKKA SIAO.
I don't know why but I find this picture damn ridiculous.
This afternoon was spent doing FunFestique stuff too. Met Wilfred and Siti at Macs again at about 3plus. Then the rest of the atlas house comm slowly made themselves present. We did all that stuff till about 7, then we left White Sands.
I think that all this is really bringing us closer together. I remember Edbert saying something about how happy he was when he saw us all working so hard on Thursday night. AND I AGREE! Like even though we're just walking into saikang.
For the uninformed, "saikang" means "shit hole".
Can't wait for FunFestique to be over though. The captains look so pekcek. :d
And about FunFestique again. I can't wait for the banner to be out! I heard that opinion's quite divided on the design of the banner. Some people like it, others think it sucks. And that makes me pretty damn sad. It's like the same feeling of having someone come up to you and telling you that he's ugly. It's like a kick in the balls to me. ):
Here's an interesting (maybe) fact. The banner design is actually an amalgamation of the two posters that you see around school as well as one of my draft posters. The Running Man poster is by me, while the Many People poster is by sili from the Callisto House Comm! I don't really have sili's poster though so I can't show you guys. ANYWAY SEE.
This,
The rejected poster which I like more honestly. ):
Plus this,
With the running men.
Equals this.
MANY RUNNING MEN.
As an added bonus, look at this. This is the original draft for a FunFestique poster. It was made waaaay back in May.
Can see how it's all connected right.
SECOND THING. CULTURAL PHENOMENON. AGAIN.
And I'm not even in it.
Even the authority has caught on.
PHENOMENON.
That will be all.
Everyday I see my dream.

Everyday is interesting when you know the people I do.
I'll blog about both yesterday and today.
Yesterday was house meeting day! In the morning. To be completely honest I was pretty damn nervous for it. It was the first Atlas house meeting we had with the J1 Atlasians. So many thoughts were going through my head!
"Will these people really respect us?"
"I wonder if they're listening."
"Was that attempt of a joke I just made too stupid for them?"
"I bet they're wondering why I'm the only one wearing the Atlas shirt while the rest are wearing Meridian leaders."
"I bet this shirt makes me look damn fat."
I can't really tell how well the meeting went though, so OKAY SURE.
Got back some results, total shit, as was the norm.
Interesting thing of the day was the perkcafe. Apparently when the doors are closed, the perkcafe becomes semi-soundproof. So a few house comm people and I were slacking around inside and we needed something to do, so a few of them took turns standing outside while we hurled possibly the MEANEST possible insults at them. Really personal stuff came out, and it was immensely entertaining to see the victim being oblivious to what was being said about him.
That's all for wednesday! Today's completely different.
Had GP in the morning.
I swear man, I've been blessed by the GP gods.
GP Paper 1 32/50 SIAO LIAO.
Fun fact: in case you didn't know already, "siao liao" literally means "crazy already"
The rest of the day was a standard day in the life of a Meridian. Had the leadership rehearsal thing. Played a super fun game called Ninja War that shuqi taught us! Basically you have to hit the palms of your opponents with your own to defeat them. Sounds simple, but it gets pretty damn crazy when you and your friends get good at it.
A typical ninja war game between two high-level players.
After that was the calling-people-up-for-FunFestique part. I met a few new people through the calling-people-up part HAHAHA. Anyway the process took up much more time than I'd have preferred it, and I took the train home with Siti, Leon and Valerie. By the time I got home (which is likka now) I felt completely dead. I don't have much to say honestly, I'm just so tired.
I THINK I'M LOSING MY SENSE OF HUMOUR OH NOEST. Oh well I shall just sleep then. I have dragon boating tomorrow anyway which'll confirm just shag-a-tronize me to the core.
What a short post this has been.
BONUS!!!
Oh yeah happy birthday again Chai! Though I honestly doubt you read my blog.
HAHA thanks ODAC girls for being so sporting!
Why do I find myself thinking about you more and more?

School's back on.
Like what the title says, school's back on.
THAT KIND OF SUCKS.
I guess since my days are gonna be less interesting, this blog'll take on a more traditional format.
I'll first recount my zoo trip though. I'll talk about the Sunday night steamboat when the pictures are up. VALERIE BIJ LIM PLEASE UPLOAD THE PHOTOS.
Like weepin said in his blog (http://chao-dar.blogspot.com Free advertising for you bro!) It's pretty damn hard to describe the outing to the zoo. It's one of those "you had to be there!" kind of things. But I had a pretty darn good time at the zoo that day. Looking at animals and balls and shit.
I swear man, animals have some of the craziest balls to ever exist.
I have nothing to say either.
And every animal there was just lepak-ing all over the place. Like. EVERY ANIMAL. Go the bird place. The birds just sit on the branch and lepak. Go the lion place. The lion just lie down there and lepak. Even the freaking FISH were all stoning. Imagine this damn huge fish at the bed of sand. It's not doing anything. It's not flapping its fins or anything. It's barely even breathing. It's just... there. And don't get me started on the primates.
'
Damn lepak.
That's all that's interesting really. Seeing all the animals devoid of energy. LIKE EVERY MERIDIAN TODAY.
Everyone looked so dead today. I could barely keep awake in class myself. FFGCC was pretty damn interesting though. I remember the last question that nobody could get right. Then that Mirandan guy who kept bombing answers was up, and he was looking for answers from the crowd.
"0.0322!" I shouted.
"Uh. 0.0322?" he said.
"AND THAT'S CORRECT!" announced the emcees.
HAHAHA DAMN FUNNY. Granted, weepin told me the answer earlier on since the question came out for his LT group's FFGCC. But for that one moment I bet that the half of the LT that heard me thought I was psychic HAHAHA.
The rest of the day sucked pretty badly. Like I said, I slept alot. Even during PW lecture. And my PW teacher was actually sitting next to me and was trying to nudge me awake. But I'm a heavy sleeper HAHAHA.
Towards the end of the day I met up with the Atlas House Comm to discuss for our house meeting tomorrow, which I am extremely nervous for. Haven't felt this nervous since, like. House Comm elections. That day when Wilfred and my stupid video came onto that screen, and when I sang that loser Rebecca Black spoof.
Random thought, we're already thinking about who to pick to be Atlasian OGLs HAHAHAHA.
Here's another random thing. Have you ever seen my facebook profile pictures? Most of the time they're me smiling with my hand behind my head, as if scratching it.
Much like this.
Actually I'd be delighted to see more people do this pose. It's damn fun HAHAHA. Like the next cultural phenomenon yo hahaha. And certainly not as dumb as planking! (Sorry plankers if I've offended you.)
If anyone reading this ever takes a picture with this pose, do tell me! Or tag me on facebook to the picture. I WILL LIKE IT ALOT.
Gotta go practice explaining the slides for tomorrow's house meeting with my dear Atlasians. I've been tasked to describe games whose names sound like horrible sexual innuendos. Good luck to myself for that man.
Buh-bye.
If you have a moment why don't we go talk about it somewhere only we know.

Four-day holiday: Part 2: Section A:Robots in disguise!
I just came back from watching Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Oh. My. GOD.
Actually for today I did more than just watch Transformers. I'd actually gone to the zoo! But I will talk about that another time in a more picture-heavy post. For now, I'll talk about Dark of the Moon. And in what better form is there to discuss a movie than in a review! Sure, it has the big budget, the over-the-top action and the some third thing which I can't think of right right now. But does it really hold its ground as a movie? Here's my COMPLETELY UNBIASED review! omg optimus prime is so hot.
Firstly and most importantly, the logo. When the title sequence came out for the movie, I immediately noticed this. It's shiny, much like the original logo sort of is, and we all like shiny things. It's a departure from the gritty feel of the first and second movie's titles, a departure that I appreciate very much, as if a homage to the original series. I also like the slightly sharpened font as compared to the previous movies' title fonts.
Notice how the logo for Dark of the Moon also shows a reflection of the moon. That's pretty damn smart, since the moon plays quite a big part for the first act of the film, plus it's also in the movie's name. Good job, advertising boys! All in all, I like this logo alot, and I give it a score of three million out of ten. Would've gotten four million if they'd included the Autobot insigna like the original did.
If any of you happened to know of Pink Floyd, which is a totally rad-ass band, you'd surely know of their hit album, The Dark Side Of The Moon. Here's the iconic album art.
Now imagine if they'd combined the two. That'd be the best possible logo anyone could ever conceive.
And it has been achieved.
Now on to the things that really matter. For instance, the story. I'll try not to spoil anything for all you people who have yet to watch it. It's pretty much about Sam whining his ass off for the first half of the movie, and metal grindin' action for the second. It escalates from a "oh we just found this item which may be the key to the plot of the whole film" kind of thing into something, much, much bigger.
Yet another bad visual pun.
The story for Dark of the Moon has two major plot twists. The first one happens pretty early in the film, and you probably'd seen it coming. The second plot twist is pretty mindblowing, and you'll wonder to yourself why you hadn't seen in coming. By the end, though, there are still some sub-plot holes left unplugged, and the ending isn't as satisfying as it could've been. It feels rushed, even.
But like I give a shit about the story. I came to see Optimus Prime tearing shit up, and that I did. Overall upon ten, I give the story a fish, because watching my hero gracing the silver screen and beating the crap out of other robots was my Prime objective.
See what I did there!?
Moving on to the direction of the movie. Dark of the Moon makes ample use of the cameraman-never-eat-enough shakey cam effect, which I absolutely love. It fits perfectly with the somewhat dark tone that the movie takes on, especially towards the latter half of the movie. The camera work is messy, confusing, and everything it should be if you were in the middle of a giant robot deathmatch. Shots are perfectly placed during the less hectic moments and epic scenes are accentuated by the excellent camera angles. As per all Michael Bay films, there's a gratituous and almost unnecessary number of explosions.
Hey dude, pull my finger! I think I'm gonna fart- BOOOOM
The sound direction is lacking, though. Save for a mere one or two commercial songs used, the music consisted mostly of loops from the main orchestral theme. Also, the trademark "EEH-OOH-AAH-EEH-UUH" transforming noise isn't as prominent as it was in the other films. I was very much disappointed with that. Sound effects, though, were sufficiently meaty and the lack of music during some fighting scenes added to the brutality of the action.
Also, I have no idea what I'm talking about so I'll give the direction a solid three thumbs up, though I only have two.
Though apparently a gifted few do have three.
Finally, the characters.
(What kind of review format is this man)
Six words. Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Optimus Ka-frigging Prime. Now that's just sexy.
I feel that Optimus Prime wasn't featured as much as he should be though, and I'm extremely unhappy about that. I don't want to see human drama with Sam and his job and what shit, I paid to see Optimus be his badass self. Also, Optimus is like a total pansy until the final scene. Like WTF. Not enough Optimus + Optimus acting like a n00b = that sucks. The final few scenes do proper justice to him though, and he kicks some serious metal ass.
This is the kind of crap I want to see.
That, and just look at this.
*drools*
She's just. So. Sexy. What with that British accent and her slight bucktooth thing going on. HOT DAMNNNNN SON. Rosie > Megan Fox ANY DAY. Plus there aren't any rumours about her being a man SO THAT'S GOOD.
Everyone else doesn't matter honestly.
Because I have no idea how to conclude my the characters, I'll just nod and say it's awesome.
*nods*
"It's awesome."
All in all, this is probably the best movie of the year so far, and for those of you who haven't watched it, do yourself a favour, get out from the underneath of that rock you're living in and go watch it NOW. GO.
You know, now that I've finally watched Transformers and I've gotten my Optimus Prime kicks, I don't think I have anything to look forward to for the next few yea-
Oh my goodness.
And now I'm just so disgusted I could puke.
Oh. My. GOD.
