I was bored.

So, I didn't have anything to do, so I decided to make a poster for fun.

Song of the Day! Sort of: Kids by MGMT (8-Bit Remix)

I've been a gamer since young, so all these bleeps and bloops bring alot of memories back for me. That + MGMT = Ear Sex.

Anyway, do you like squares? I like squares.

Is this a square? I can't seem to tell. It's a confusing shape.

To quote wikipedia:
"In geometry, a square is a regular quadrilateral. This means that it has four equal sides and four equal angles (90-degree angles, or right angles)"
You can do lots of cool things with squares.

You can ride a bike.

You can have a watermelon or ten.

They're actually cubes, if you think about it.

And you can make art.

It's a perfect square made out of perfect squares.

Anyway. I was very bored, so I opened photoshop and played with some squares. With some house colours. And added an MJC. Because I like the houses and I like MJC.

He said he liked MJC!

And my computer gave birth to this.

I own a Windows Phone, in case anyone's wondering.

Looks kind of empty.

Much better.

I wish I had something to do other than this crap. ):

I don't know what I ought to do 'cause I don't know what I mean to you.

Stole this from Wilfred's facebook.

Girls need to realize ♥

We guys don't care if you talk to other guys.

We don't care if you're friends with other guys.

But when you're sitting next to us, and some random guy walks into the room and you jump up and tackle him, without even introducing us, yeah, it pisses us off.

It doesn't help if you sit there and talk to him for ten minutes without even acknowledging the fact that we're still there.

We don't care if a guy calls or texts you, but at 2 in the morning we do get a little concerned.

Nothing is that important at 2am that it can't wait till the morning.

Also, when we tell you you're pretty/beautiful/gorgeous/cute/stunning, we freakin' mean it.

Don't tell us we're wrong.

We'll stop trying to convince you.

The sexiest thing about a girl is confidence.

Yeah, you can quote me.

Don't be mad when we hold the door open.

Take advantage of the mood I'm in.

Let us pay for you ! Don't feel bad. We enjoy doing it.

It's expected.

Smile and say thank you.

Kiss us when no one's watching.

If you kiss us when you know somebody's looking, we'll be more impressed.

You don't have to get dressed up for us.

If we're going out with you in the first place, you don't have to feel the need to wear the shortest skirt you have or put on every kind of make-up you own.

We like you for who you are and not what you are.

Honestly, I think a girl looks more beautiful when she's just in her pj's.

Or my t-shirt and boxers, not all dolled up.

Don't take everything we say seriously.

Sarcasm is a beautiful thing. See the beauty in it.

Don't get angry easily.

Stop using magazines/media as your bible.

Don't talk about how hot Chris Brown, Brad Pitt, or Jesse McCartney is in front of us.

It's boring, and we don't care. You have girlfriends for that.

Whatever happened to the word "handsome"/'beautiful"I'd be utterly stunned by a girl who greeted me with "Hey handsome!" instead of "Hey baby/stud/cutie/sexy" or whatever else you can think of.

On the other hand I'm not saying I wouldn't like it either.

Girls, I cannot stress this enough: if you aren't being treated right by a guy, don't wait for him to change!

Ditch his sorry butt, disgrace to the male population, and find someone who will treat you with utter respect. Someone who will honor your morals.

Someone who will make you smile when you're at your lowest.

Someone who will care for you even when you make mistakes.

Someone who will love you, no matter how bad you make them feel.

Someone who will stop what they're doing just to look you in the eyes and say I love you and actually mean it.

Give the nice guys a chance.

ADVICE:

*Holding Hands* -Girls: If you want to hold his hand, gently bump into it a couple of times.

*Movies* -Girls: During a movie, if he puts his arm around you, tilt your head on his shoulder. -Guys: Lift her chin up and kiss her.

*Loving each other* -Guys: When she tells you she loves you, look deep into her eyes, give her a peck on the lips, and tell her you love her too and mean it.

*Laying below the stars* -Girls: When you're both laying under the stars, put your head on his chest and close your eyes as you listen to his steady heartbeat. -Guys: Whisper in her ear and link your hands with hers.

I finished Skyrim.

The main quest, at least.

What else will I do with my life now.

Oh yeah.

More Skyrim.

Today was a good day.

Very good indeed. And tiring.

SONG OF THE DAY: The Elder Scrolls Dubstep by Stephen Walking

Here's something you guys probably know: I love dubstep. Another thing you guys should know: I love Skyrim. Here's something you guys probably didn't know: I love orchestrated music. Meaning stuff like the Pirates of the Carribean theme and the like. It just sounds so epic, and epic is good. This song is a mash-up of those things, giving you orchestra-dubstep (with a dash of Skyrim), which I shall call orchestep or dubsteptra, because whatever. I suggest you listen to the whole thing all the way through, because yes.

Anyway, for the impatient, the beat drops at about 1:20 or so, so go press play and get yourself an eargasm or two right now.

Not actually better than sex.

On to today!

I woke up at 11plus, got prepared and left house at 12:10.

We were supposed to meet at Tampines MRT at 12.

RIGHT ON TIME MAN.

The train ride to Tampines was mildly amusing. Remember back in Sec 1 where your goal in life is to be "cool" and act as Ah Beng as possible? Well, there were two specimens of such in the same carriage as myself as I made my way to Tampines.

I was listening to music, then I noticed these two Lower-Sec looking boys, slightly pudgy, shooting glances at me. Generally I don't like people looking at me unless they're sexy girls. So I played by my "5-strike" rule. Shoot glances at me 5 times, and on the 5th time I'll just stare at you.

There I was counting. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5 OKAY STARE AT YOU.

So I just turned my head as quickly as possible and stared at the boys, to which they stopped throwing glances at me. I didn't stop looking though, and one of the boy had this damn serious look on his face HAHAHA.

I don't even know what to say about this.

Then I reached Tampines.

Either way the rest were late, the rest being Leon, Wilfred and Wee Pin. I then met Wilfred at Tampines to wait for Leon who was on the way. We called Wee Pin who said that he was just about to leave his house, so we insisted he meet us straight at Bugis.

Leon and I were pretty hungry when we reached Bugis, and Wee Pin hadn't arrived yet, so we decided to find food while waiting for him. We walked around until we saw some 1-for-1 thing going on at Billy Bomber's. So we walked in, sat down, ready to order some 1-for-1 cheapskateness, when we realised that we had to buy a drink each to get the 1-for-1 deal. One drink (and I mean a can of coke) is like 6 bucks KNN.

We definitely had to get out of there if we didn't want to waste our money. And everyone knows that getting out of restaurants after sitting down is one of the most paiseh things ever. I mean, the waitress was standing right behind us waiting for us to order. So I told Leon and Wilfred quietly: "When it comes to this kind of thing, it's every man for himself." and I stood up and said loudly "I GO FIND WEEPIN" and tried to get out of Billy Bomber's ASAP. Wilf and Leon followed suit. DAMN PAISEH HAHAHA.

On an unrelated note.

What a charming name for this cluster of islands!

We found Weepin shortly after. I think he woke up late cause he was busy playing Skyrim the night before LOL. We then went to some MacDonald's near Bras Basah to eat cause we needed to get stuff from that Art Friend shop there to get artsy stuff.

Art Friend is pretty damn interesting. But I feel like I totally don't belong there hahaha. Everyone inside had this "I totally know what I'm doing and I know what I'm looking for" vibe, while I was going around thinking "wah so many colours damn pretty" and "since when paintbrush got so many type" and "what the hell is the difference between all these types of paints". Yeah, I know I'm super ignorant not knowing something as trivia; as the difference between different types of paints, but art's just not my thing.

So we got all the stuff we needed and after that it started to rain like shit. So we had a great adventure running from building to building, trying to find an interesting place to waste time till the rain stopped.. Eventually we found a bus stop. From there we went to Kallang MRT, and over to Paya Lebar, where Celestine's aunt owned a T-shirt printing shop (or something along that line) to order our Mass Dance shirts.

Damn messed up, the size that I'm wearing is S.

You're probably thinking "What!? Weilun wearing S!? So tight FOR WHAT!"

Waaaaay too tight.

First of all, you're a bitch.

Secondly, the cutting is damn weird. I'd say our MJ size M is tighter than their S. I just hope that nothing screws up with the S size ending up smaller than the sample just now. If not, then get ready to see the shape of my nipples come Open House.

So there we were, shirts ordered and everything. We then made our way back to Leon's house to slack a bit. We decided to cook our own dinner, and we passed by Cold Storage to pick some crap up to cook and eat.

Men in the kitchen.

Obviously, it wouldn't be a proper meal with the Atlas House Comm guys if it wasn't unnecessarily excessive and unhealthy.

Just look at our track record.

We even have a video.

Epic Meal Time wannabes, sort of. But we're pretty damn successful at it either way.

So for dinner we had chicken-broth soup with meatballs.

A dish which is arguably more "ball" than "soup".

A whole honey-glazed chicken.

We thought this was its ass. It's actually its neck. It's like a few people, with assholes where their mouths should be.

And oh yeah, we cooked up ten packets of instant mee goreng.

Yes, really.

And to top it all off, we had ourselves some protein milkshakes.

Actually I'm just kidding, that shit's unhealthy.

After dinner we were struggling to keep our hearts running, so we decided to play some video games. We ended up playing Skyrim. Which reminds me. Wee Pin suggests that I try completing Skyrim. So...

Goodbye blog, Hello SKYRIM!

do you miss me the way I miss you?

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

You and I, my dear friend.

You and I are more alike than you'd think.

I just came back from a heart-to-heart session with Gideon, Ryan, Benedict and Wee Pin. It started out as pretty standard fare, stories of lovers lost and all that drama. Made me a little sad at first, thinking back about all the stupid shit I'd been through. And right now I feel pretty crappy.

Anyway it was near the end of the session that shit started to get heavy. All this is making me feel even worse, cause I can totally relate to it.

Sometimes relationships really aren't worth getting into. And yet I still complain about feeling lonely and stuff.

BGR stuff can really ruin friendships.

Which leads me to another point.

I don't really know. I feel for so many people, people I call close friends, confidantes. But do they see me in the same light?

Do they have the same trust in me the trust I have in them?

Do they know that I'm there for them?

Do they know that behind all this joking, all this buddy-buddy stuff, I'll be there to support them?

Do they know that I feel for them, and their burdens are mine too?

Will they hesitate if I ask them for help? I wouldn't if they did.

It's not that they won't do such things.

I'm just not close enough to them to know if they do for sure.

Guess I'll just have to get to know them better.

And make sure they know what they mean to me.

You and I, my dear friend, are more alike than you think.

PADDLE PADDLE PADDLE PADDLE

I have just come back from The Paddlers' Club camp.

Okay, fine, not really just. But it ended yesterday and "carried over" till today in the form of tent-washing, so close enough.

SONG OF THE DAY: The Paddling Song by Myself! :D

BHB SIOL.

This was from way back in April. This video is pretty damn messed up. I was freaking tired as hell while recording the video, and the lyrics were made up as I went along. Turned out pretty okay I guess. Consider this the Paddlers' theme song, or at least my theme song for them if you must. I wonder what the J1s are gonna think of this crap when they come in.

I suggest you hear it at least once for some lulz.

Yes, lulz.

ANYWAY, PADDLERS' CAMP.

It's been a while since I've slept in a tent. That's all I can say.

First day was pretty shaggaristical.

Kayaked from Pasir Ris Park to Punggol, then Pulau Ubin, then to Changi beach. DOESN'T THAT SOUND FAR. It's about 18km I think, which really isn't as hard as it sounds, but for people who haven't kayaked before you could go all "Eh yesterday I paddled 18km" to which they'll probably go "SIAO AH.

Anyway upon reaching Changi beach (at about 2plus I think?) we arranged our kayaks and started pitching our tents, after which we did possibly the most mature thing ever: Build sandcastles. It's not like we were forced to go build sandcastles or anything, but we had nothing else to do, and the beach was so nearby.

Ever tried digging a really deep hole in the sand, only to suddenly find water filling up said hole, like out of nowhere? Yeah, we wanted to make a bigass hole just for the sake of it, when suddenly water started, well, filling it up. So we took the idea and ran with it, trying to use these holes as sources of water as basins of sort, and we tried creating a river system with lakes and meandering rivers and mini-waterfalls, all on the beach. Sadly though, there are no pictures other than that of the deepest hole that we dug, which we called the Shrine of the Seven Giants, in reference to the seven of us who wasted our afternoon building the stupid shit.

The black stuff is supposed to read "VII", or 7 in Roman numerals for the uninformed.
You can actually see the hole at the bottom of the picture.
Also, this is the first time I've written a caption that has had more than one line.

Then came the ridiculousness which was the night. Leon helped us buy this beer which was honestly too strong to be beer. It was like, 8.8% or something? At least twice the normal alcohol content.

Here's Wee Pin's account of what happened that night.

"We went to booze at changi village.
Eat cockles and nasi lemak.
Super uncle."

Yeah. What he didn't mention though was when they were ass-ed me like shit. Chin Yue had his own can of beer but he didn't like it, so he'd distract me by pointing somewhere, to which I'd look, and he'd then spike my Ice Lemon Green Tea with some of his beer. Apparently I finished about a quarter of his beer without realising it. And the rest of the guys there were all laughing at me, but I didn't know what they were laughing about, so I was sad. ):

Apparently "You're Not In On the Joke" is the name of a Cobra Starship song, so whatever I'll just use this picture.

The next day we paddled back to Pasir Ris Park. We docked at about 12-ish, leaving us a helluva lot of time to participate in our next activity... Which was sandcastle building, a la LTC. We pretty much recreated the giant hole thing, except in a more organised fashion. Sadly no pictures again. ):

After sandcastle building, it happened to be low tide, so we went down and found a pit of clay. Clay kinda feels like wet play-dough, if you don't know. We took turns trying to throw the stuff at Sandeep, after which we tried making the pit deeper. Eventually we made it so that one could sink into the pit about thigh-deep, which is insane.

NO PICTURES AGAIN ARGH.

After that was barbeque and night walk, neither of which was interesting. The night and the next day went by uneventfully. I reached home yesterday at about 5plus, played Skyrim for abit, then slept from 6-ish to 7.30 this morning, missing dinner and everything. I then went to school with a few paddlers to wash the tents with ODAC, since we borrowed the tents from them. After the washing was done, Pin Leon and I tried kicking some soccer ball up the stairs at the ODAC room, where I SPLIT MY PANTS. SIAN.

So I sat around while covering the hole and watched Pin and Leon play. We then had lunch at Carl's Jr, which Leon had not eaten at before WTF. After we finished eating we sat in Carl's Jr and played Skyrim on my laptop, since I'd brought it along. We did this for more than an hour. THIS IS WHAT SKYRIM DOES TO YOU.

Remember, all this while I was in my split pants.

Anyway, I came home after that, played Skyrim till dinner, after which I started writing this post, and after this I'll be playing Skyrim SO BYE NOW.

My sentiments exactly.

We were both young when I first saw you.

Things come and go.

And then sometimes they're lost forever.

SONG OF THE DAY: Boston By Augustana

This is one of my favourite songs to emo to. Not that I feel particularly bad or anything, just that I've been thinking back and looking through some old stuff, and for some reason this song just popped into my head.

Here's an interesting fact. Every SONG OF THE DAY is the song I happen to be listening to while I post. And it's on endless repeat until I finish writing the post. In today's case, the song just happens to be "Boston", and to be honest the song carries with it alot of memories.

And the video's so pretty. Though much like one of the top commentors on the video, I do wonder why the piano isn't sinking into the sand or anything. It's a bit "whut" for me.

But how!?

Have you ever had some things you told yourself you'd treasure and keep close to you forever, only to have them lost later on? Sometimes you know that it's you who lost it. Other times, it just... Disappears.

It could be a memory, a momento, even a person. One day, you're holding it so close to your heart, and the next day, it's just gone.

I was looking through some old stuff when I came across a Christmas card. It was from a friend whom I held near and dear to me before. But recently, what with the JC curriculum and lots of other commitments, I hadn't had time to connect with said friend. In fact, the last time I'd seen this friend in real life was probably. A couple of months ago? And I feel pretty guilty for that.

I also found my Temasek Sec yearbook. I remembered all the stupid jokes, all the bitchiness, all the crazy fun, all the backstabbing. Yeah, that was what Temasek was like, at least for me. Everyone would be bitching about everyone else, but pretending to be friends with each other. Each person had their own group of friends who bitched about another group, and the other group would bitch back, but when the two groups meet, they'll be old pals again. I wonder if JC's like that. It either isn't as bad or it's just more well-hidden.

ANYWAY. Looking through these things I started thinking about all the friends I'd lost over the course of the years. A guy I called "best friend" back in Sec 2 started bitching about me when we split classes in Sec 3, and I did the same too. One less bro for me. Another "best friend" of mine turned into a mat after we split classes. A girl whom I called "confidante" back in Sec 2, someone I held so close to me suddenly drifted away once we split classes too. And I'm talking about someone whom I'd talked to everyday, just sharing stupid stories and experiences. I don't know if you still remember these things, if you're reading this, but only you would understand what I'd mean by "Amazonian Body Structure", but I doubt you remember or even read my blog in the first place.

And the thing is, all this loss is usually my own fault. Maybe I didn't hold on tight enough? Maybe I held on too close to the point of being annoying. All I know is that I definitely had a part to play in the losing of these close friends.

I'm thankful that I have the friends that I do now though. Though they'll never replace whatever memories I have of all the old friends I used to have, The House Comm people with all the crazy shit, my CCA mates for all the laughs through the tough times, those random people that for some reason I just know and spend time with anyway, my classmates, etc, all have created great and definitely memorable experiences for me.

On a side note, I'm now in 11S122. My previous class, 11S502, had only 9 people. Sadly, 2 of my classmates retained, leaving the headcount to 7. So the timetable comm apparently merged 11s502 with 11S122. GOOD THEN.

I have nothing else to say, but I shall leave you with this confusing picture.

Chai and Valerie are in our secondary school uniforms, while Benedict is in a traditional malay costume. WHAT?

Going back to the corner where I first saw you.

Can somebody please tell me...

What the hell is wrong with this world?

When it dawns,

It dawns IN FIRE.

Okay la I don't think alot of you will understand what I just said. Let's get conventions out of the way first.

SONG OF THE DAY: The Skyrim Epic Rap by Dan Bull

This song is freaking epic. I mean. Just watch it. The dude takes some orchestral shit and makes it into some kind of sick beat. Mad props to the DJ who mixed this crazy shit. Aw man hell yeah I'm likka nigga talking straight up in this bitch.

nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga nigga

Let's get that out of the way. Anyway, you guys should know that I LOVE videogames, to the point where if you're a girl and you happen to play videogames I'll just seriously FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU.

There's this game out, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which I'm totally into right now. It has one boring-as-hell name for sure, but the game's far from that, and the song pretty much sums it up.

This game has already sucked so many hours from my short life.

I'm sure many of you know about a game called Grand Theft Auto, where you can pretty much go around in a city and blow shit up and basically do anything you want. This game's kinda like that, except with dragons and horses instead of prostitutes and cars.

And in this game, you can seriously do anything.

You can become some cat thing and sneak around in the shadows, assassinating people silently; nobody will know what had hit them.

I wasn't kidding about becoming a cat thing.

Or you can choose to be as subtle as a white man and a ghetto convention, and take the role as a Nordic warrior and go on a rampage, killing everything in sight.

Ouch, dude.

The game's just so versatile. Within the first couple of hours of playing the game, my character (called A'algahut, see what I did there? hurhurhur) had bought a house, stolen a horse, gotten caught and thrown into jail, escaped from jail, raided bandit hideouts, climbed mountains, become a vampire, cured himself of said vampirism and done all sorts of other crazy shit. And then there's dragons. They just swoop in at you out of nowhere, and you've only got yourself to depend on.

It comes in at you, you ready your weapon, and it's either you fight, or die trying.

A mixture of feelings ranging from "Awesome" to "Shit-in-my-pants fear".

Pin's playing it too. Leon's playing it right now. Like, really, right now. Wilfred wants the game I think. And once I finish this blog post I'll be playing it too.

Y'know, if any of you want it, you could always ask me. For such a huge game, it's relatively small in size, and can fit in a thumbdrive. Also, though it looks so damn pretty, it can run on pretty low-end computers too. SO GET IT NOW.

/end_nerdgasm.

Today was a pretty tiring day. Had to teach the whole Atlas (or at least whoever showed up) the Atlas Mass Dance. I'm damn proud of the Atlas dance eh actually. I treat it much like a mother who has a child but isn't sure as to who the father is cause she'd slept with too many men. In other words, it's like an actualization of all the ideas from so many people, including my own.

I mean, we all put so much effort into it. So to see my dearest Atlas members join in the dance and enjoy themselves while dancing it. Just, wow.

The cheering session was ridiculously fun as well, if a bit overstretched. I can confidently say we did the Meridian medley at least 6-7 times, along with a healthy dose of "O" cheers and a shower of everyone's favourite house cheers. And to explain to those who don't understand, we did so many school cheers just now since we were prompted to inculcate a stronger school spirit, rather than just house spirit. I like doing the cheers an unnecessarily large number of times actually, 75% due to school spirit, 23% since we were told to, and 2% since I'm a troll.

Yes, a troll. Didn't see that coming did you?

Highlight of the session for me was when we all did Callisto's cheers for them since they weren't present. And when each house purposely cheered other houses' cheers. All in all it was pretty damn fun, standing up there with the Atlas House Comm (plus Eugene and Joshua and other disiao kia at one point) and screaming our lungs out. My voice is still hoarse and sensual from OGL camp, and the cheer session just now didn't help one bit, but screw it that was fun. I wonder how Constance felt seeing her 9th House Comm going all "When I say Triton, you say is the best!". Hope these good vibes carry over to the 10th batch of Meridians and House Comm members.

After that a bunch of us stayed in school and screwed around.

On a side note, you really should watch Charles try to breakdance, or just dance in general. It's pure poetry in motion HAHAHAHA.

Had dinner at KFC with Pin, XH and a bunch of Miranda people, then took the train home with Charlotte.

OKAY ENOUGH OF THIS SKYRIM NOW.

Let's get lost tonight.
